HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE SITTING
Here are the most commonly asked questions:
HOW MUCH ROOM IS NEEDED? There’s not much for you to do, and yet there’s just enough to make it worth mentioning. I will need a cleared floor space measuring approximately 16’X10’. If necessary, a smaller area can be made to accommodate. For large groups, an area of at least 20’X15’ is required. This applies only to sessions done indoors since it involves use of a studio set up. Most living rooms will provide adequate space.
WHAT DO I NEED TO PROVIDE? We will probably require a small table or something similar, about 25” in height. While a small, sturdy table is preferable, other options can include large coolers, benches, night stands and likewise. Glass surfaces are not recommended due to safety risks. If you don’t have any such item, please let me know prior to the appointment so that I may make special arrangements.
WHAT COLOR BACKDROPS DO YOU HAVE? The color of the backdrop I use is medium blue. I use this specifically because it is the most flattering to all skin tones when used for portrait photography. I also have a white backdrop. If you would prefer a different color, anything you provide is fine. An ordinary flat-style bed sheet in queen or king size is all we need.
WHAT COLOR CLOTHES SHOULD BE WORN? Whatever looks the best on each individual. My backdrop goes well with just about everything. Colors that really pop are red, orange, and strong yellow. My suggestion is to wear whatever makes you feel happy.
DO I NEED MY OWN PROPS OR WILL YOU HAVE THEM? Using props is a great way to add special significance to your memories while also providing some variety. You should choose things that mean something to you. I don’t have props since my things won’t have any special meaning to you. If you don’t want to use props, no problem. The important thing here is capturing what it is that you want to remember.thing here is capturing what it is that you want to remember.
